Pocket Console DMX Instructions:
Battery Installation Turn the unit ON. Switch into PATCH mode. Display will read Dimmer 001. Using the NEXT or LAST buttons, choose the dimmer you wish to patch. Press one of the chosen FLASH buttons under a slider and you have now patched that dimmer to that slider. Continue the process as much as you like. All 512 dimmers could go to one slider, if you choose. Also, holding down the NEXT or LAST button will stream through the dimmers. Holding down UNPATCH or holding down a FLASH button simultaneously, will PATCH or UNPATCH thru all selected dimmers as long as you hold down the buttons. When in PATCH mode, the LED under the slider will only light if the selected dimmer is patched to that slider. This is all the LED indicators are for. THEY ARE NOT SLIDER LEVEL OR FLASH INDICATORS. When in PATCH mode, the unit will still send DMX and the changes will be instantaneous if you have sliders up on the panel. Holding down the NEXT or LAST buttons will stream through the dimmers slowly at first and then VERY QUICKLY, just like on an LED based alarm clock. Operation 8-Page Multi-Patch Instructions: How to Program 8 Pages of Patch If you go from NORMAL to PATCH mode and push either the LAST or NEXT button, the display will indicate the current patch page as long as the button used is held down. When released, the display will then indicate the most recent DMX value displayed in that last patch addressed. You can then use the LAST or NEXT buttons to continue patching in this patch page continuing from that DMX number. Reverting to NORMAL and back to PATCH and then changing patches again will default you back to DMX address 001 in the new patch chosen. Software/Chip Installation First, turn the unit OFF. Now…carefully and slowly remove the screws holding in the circuit board. Keep track of the nylon spacers on both the front and back of the board. Keep them on the screws, if you can. Then, remove the backing nut on the DMX-out strain relief and pull the strain relief up/out of the enclosure. If the cable is too short, unscrew the strain relief from the threaded grommet. This will release the grommet's grip on the cable. Tip or pry the board up on the side opposite the "PATCH/NORMAL" and "POWER" switches and then slide it out and away from these switches. Flip the board over and you can now see the chip. You must carefully remove this chip and insert the new chip in its place. (Radio Shack makes a cheap chip (PLCC) puller that will make this job much easier.) Be sure to line up the new chip's markings and teeth to match the female socket. One of the chip corners is flat. This should go in the upper left hand corner. DO NOT FORCE IT IN. The chip should insert snugly into the chip socket. Put everything back the same/reverse way you took it apart. Be careful to line up the board and screws in a manner that allows free movement of the sliders and the buttons. If things don't go too well, put everything in the box and send it back. Nice try.We will reassemble the unit and send it back to you, but please prepay the postage. |
